Australians like to shop online says ABS

Australia has 15.4 million internet users, and in 2012/2013 three quarters of them made a purchase online according to latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

The proportion of male to female internet users is almost identical, as is the proportion of purchases made between the two sexes.

The most common purchase types for both males and females were travel, accommodation, memberships, or tickets of any kind. It is not surprising that secondary purchases for women were clothes, cosmetics or jewellery, and for men it was CDs, music, DVDs, videos, books and magazines.
